So let me just say, I’m not a total fan of this entire palette but, it was on sale and I like to go out of my comfort zone occasionally — why not, right? Anyway, I’ve watched several videos about this palette from how it swatches and feels to how it works after being repressed and the amount each pan contains. Inside the palette there are three finishes to the eyeshadows: matte, frost and glitter.
Star Power, Courtney, Vanity and China White are all matte. In my specific palette, they all felt soft and swatched really well. When I read online, a lot of people said theirs felt chalky and that they had terrible fall out but that wasn’t the case with mine. My issue with these specific shades are that Courtney blends into my skin, like you can’t even see the color and China White fades fast. The only way for me to accurately get the white color payoff is to put it on with my fingers rather than a brush.
Princess, Violence, Rich Bitch, Confession are all frost finishes, I think. I’m actually not too sure about Rich Bitch because it was a real pain in the ass. On the site, it says this palette has extreme pigment, which most of them do, but Rich Bitch was terrible. I love the color and secretly only ordered the palette for that color and I couldn’t even swatch it nicely. The other three all search well and blend out well too. The color pay off on those are phenomenal and they just look so nice on!
Expensive and Black Rainbow are the glitter eyeshadows. Neither of them are really my favorite, nor do I see myself reaching for them but if I had to choose one of the two, I would go with Black Rainbow which actually has multicolor glitter in it.
Overall the palette is pretty decent and nice quality, you do get a lot of product; the pans are pretty big in comparison. However, a handful of the shades stained my fingers after swatching them — Rich Bitch, Violence, Expensive, Vanity and Black Rainbow. I don’t think I’ll ever repurchase this but I’ll mess around with it over the next few months and see how I really feel about it.
ColourPop is my jam! I love it so much for the simple fact that it’s nice quality and affordable! I typically only ever buy their liquid matte lipsticks so these are totally and 100% first impressions even though I’ve used the brand before.
Hack and Super Cute are ultra glossy lips which are basically lipglosses and let me just say, I love them! I was worried the glitter would be gritty and leave a weird feel on my lips but to my surprise, they weren’t. I even forgot I had them on for a while. Both of them are pink shades and don’t really pop on the lips but give a subtle hint of color that I really like!
Steel and Porter are the eyeshadows I purchased and they seem really nice. They both swatched well, but I did have to kind of work Steel to get the full effect of the baby pink color. I also think you could maybe use it as a highlighter if your skin is light enough Porter however is extremely pigmented and left my skin stained, in fact the color is STILL on my wrist at this moments.
Last but not least is the Super Shock Cheek highlighter in Candyman. The color pay off is a lot more brassy and bronze than I anticipated. I am however on a light to medium brown in terms of skin color, but even on me it’s too vibrant to use. Therefore, I’ll be using it more as an eyeshadow than I probably ever will use it as a highlighter.
Overall I like all the products I purchased and while some are better than others, it’s all nice stuff. I also only bought all this stuff because it was all on sale — ya girl is a cheap shopper, judge me! The makeup was basically my Valentine’s gifts to me from me, because why not! Anyway, I’ll update you all eventually on how I feel about the products, who knows maybe my opinions on some will change!
